Liam Neeson Considers Giving Up Catholic

Liam Neeson is highly impressed by Islam and has decided to give up catholic religion to become a Muslim. The 59 years old Irish actor took this decision during shooting of his film in the Turkish city of Istanbul. He has decided this after listening beautiful calling of prayers for five times a day. He stated that the beautiful and stunning mosques forced me to think about conversion to Islam. He is really inspired by the traditions and ritual of Muslim metropolis. He expressed his feeling in interview and said, “The Call to Prayer happens five times a day and for the first week it drives you crazy, and then it just gets into your spirit and it's the most beautiful, beautiful thing. There are 4,000 mosques in the city.” All these factors force him to think about becoming a Muslim.

Liam Neeson is an Irish actor and has been nominated for Oscar, BAFTA and three Golden Globe Awards. He has performed lots of notable roles including Oskar Schindler in Schindler’s List, Peyton Westlake in Darkman, Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars etc. In 1997, he was ranked at 69th number on Empire magazine’s 100 greatest movie stars of all time. Liam Neeson was born in County Antrim Northern Ireland and raised as a devout Catholic and served as an altar boy. He is educated from Saint Patrick’s College, Ballymena Technical College and Queen’s University Belfast. He moved to Dublin after completing university education to promote his acting career. He is in acting field since 1973. In the early 1990s, he again moved to United States for his performance in Schindler’s Listled to more high profile work. He is widowed and currently lives in New York with his two sons.

In his interview he revealed his open interest in other ideas and beliefs. He said that “I was reared a Catholic but I think every day we ask ourselves, not consciously, what are we doing on this planet? What's it all about? I'm constantly reading books on God or the absence of God and atheism.” Now wait and watch the next move of Liam Neeson and its effects on his career.
